The Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Blessed Trinity, is sent to us as our friend and advocate. His gifts help us to seek God through His sacraments.

  2. Knowledge
  3. Understanding
  4. Wisdom
  5. Counsel
  6. Piety
  7. Fear of the Lord

CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY

By the exercise of these merciful acts we help ourselves and our neighbors in the love of God, our Creator and Savior.

  1. To feed the hungry
  2. To give drink to the thirsty
  3. To clothe the naked
  4. To shelter the homeless
  5. To visit the imprisoned
  6. To visit the sick and infirm
  7. To bury the dead

SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY

We must forgive, understand and care for each other. We have this fellowship of love because we first received love from God, our Father, Whose mercy is infinite.

  1. To correct sinners
  2. To instruct the ignorant
  3. To counsel the doubtful
  4. To comfort the sorrowing
  5. To bear adversities patiently
  6. To forgive offenses
  7. To pray for the living and the dead

THE EIGHT BEATITUDES

  1. Blessed are the poor in the spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  2. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
  3. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
  4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
  5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
  6. Blessed are the pure in heart. For they shall see God.
  7. Blessed are the peacemakers, they shall be called sons of God.
  8. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
